Eight years on the SIRIUS CE ST motor management portfolio in industrial automation, spanning software testing, industrial communication, security testing, device virtualization, lab infrastructure, and Industry 4.0 research prototypes. This is where reliability stopped being a final testing step and became a design requirement.
Work and responsibilities
- Led verification and validation activities for industrial devices and engineering software, including requirement analysis, design walkthroughs, test scenario identification, and functional/non-functional test execution.
- Collaborated with development and firmware teams in Germany to identify common platform, firmware, communication, and integration issues across industrial devices.
- Dynamic Virtualization of Industrial Devices: Designed and developed a patented prototype for industrial devices, reducing physical hardware dependency and enabling realistic software testing through captured protocol request-response behavior.
- Performed protocol analysis, dataset exploration, reverse engineering, and pattern identification for industrial devices across PROFINET, PROFIBUS, serial, and related communication interfaces.
- Conducted security and exploratory testing for industrial devices and applications, including fuzz testing, model-based security testing, manual vulnerability scanning, and risk analysis of user stories.
- Created and managed a separate research lab network to reproduce real-time issues such as load testing, accessibility constraints, and network/device behavior under industrial conditions.
- Augmented Reality Mobile App for SIEMENS Motor Management Devices: Developed the communication library and AR mobile app that let engineers monitor and control SIMOCODE motor management devices over PROFINET, demoed at an internal Siemens hackathon.
- Pluggable Magnetic Connector: Designed and built magnetic connector prototypes to speed up wiring device inputs and outputs during industrial motor management device testing.
- Mentored new team members, assisted partners and developers in resolving issues, and coordinated patent activities including IP document review, novelty checks, and progress tracking.
- Named a Siemens Tech Expert; contributed solutions in time synchronization and device virtualization.
